Infrastructure Electric, LLC focuses on outdoor electrical construction, primarily in the public sector. The company’s areas of expertise include street lighting, traffic signals, airport lighting, fiber optic communications, Intelligent Transportation Systems, power distribution and site utilities. The company’s principals have worked on projects for multiple municipal agencies operating in the five boroughs and Long Island, as well as numerous general contractors and construction managers in the region. They bring over 60 years of combined experience executing and completing contracts in this sector.

The company is currently working on a project at John F. Kennedy International Airport which involves the installation of equipment, airport wide, for Raytheon's "Design Build Operate and Maintain" contract at New York area airports. IE is furnishing and installing all conduit and wire for the network operation of the system as well as performing the communications tie-in for the network. This includes fiber optic splicing and testing for all equipment communication. The scope includes installation of airport wide fence sensors, node and surveillance equipment. IE electricians are performing installations on roofs, hung ceilings, crawl spaces, high bay areas, outdoor and indoor walls and the roof of the control tower.

The JFK Airport project is unique in that it requires a special understanding of the airport construction environment. The work, a mixture of indoor and outdoor work, is in one of the firm's core market segments. The company expects to complete the project in early 2009. This is the final phase of a $ 100 million project for all four Port Authority-operated airports.
